Washi Tape + Art + Packaging

Today's DIY is brought to you courtesy of Sarah Hearts.  Sarah is a huge fan of washi tape and has lots of tutorials on her blog showcasing the hundreds of ways you can use washi tape.

This is a 2 for 1 project today because I am going to share with you Sarah's project idea and a second idea of my own.  Ready?  Okay, first up...Sarah's tutorial: She shares with you how to make darling art for the wall using blank canvases.  Just eyeing it can create fun and unique designs.  Layering your washi tapes gives the pieces cool color variation and texture.

Next up my quick idea that came to me while posting these photos:  How cute would it be to washi white (or even brown packaging) boxes?  If you ever run out of wrapping and are in a pinch, use washi tape.  Personally, I like the creativeness of using washi tape on plain boxes versus wrapping paper (plus I never have wrapping paper at my house!).  It is so different that you're gift is sure to stand out from the crowd.  Another idea for all you Etsy shop owners is to do this on your packaging.  I would die if I received my jewelry or handmade goodness in a darling box like this!

There is no right or wrong way to do either of these project whether you are creating art for your walls or art in your packaging.   Just let your creative juices flow and have fun!

Confetti!!

Today's DIY is so fun.  I fell in love with this idea and had to share it with you all.  Confetti trimmings!  This wrapping would be so cute for a kids birthday present, baby shower gift, all the men who think bows are too frilly or for your best girl pal.

The fantastic part about this project is you only need a few supplies, all of which you likely have laying around the house.

SUPPLIES:
hole puncher
colorful pieces of paper (construction paper weight would be best)
double sided tape
packaging paper

Have fun!
